Other Things To Know

General Guidelines for All Classes

Gentle: Great for beginners or seasoned practitioners who desire a slower paced class.  Often props are used in restorative poses to facilitate deeper release and relaxation.  This class includes breathing technique instruction and guided relaxations. Soothing for the body, mind and spirit.

All Level: Medium paced yoga class with variations and modifications for different levels of student ability and experience. Emphasis will be on developing a stronger practice with emphasis on correct alignment, continued  breath work,  and the ability to concentrate and focus.

Level II: For those with yoga experience and an understanding of proper alignment in most of the classical yoga asanas. These classes are often a faster pace for those who want a bit more challenge. More advanced poses, including inversions and hand balancing can be incorporated as well as longer periods of seated stillness and meditation. Also more advanced types of pranayama are introduced. Emphasis is placed on curiosity, openness to change and an ability to stay focused and with the breath.

Inclement Weather Policy

Be sure to check the Region-12 school website or listen to your local radio station in the event of inclement weather. If Region-12 schools are cancelled, there is no morning yoga class. An evening class on such a day might still be in session, so check  your e-mails or call 860-868-7116/6707.  If Region 12 has a 90 minute delay, the morning yoga class begins a half hour later (a 9:30 class would begin at 10:00).
